After several teases, the Shiba Inu development team finally unveiled the surprise behind the mysterious hints it dropped over the past few days and provided details on the Shibarium beta test.
The official Twitter account of Shiba Inu revealed a major announcement over the weekend and just as previously teased, it has something to do with the ecosystem’s official website.
“A special http://Shibatoken.com countdown has begun. Please allow DNS to propagate correctly, in case the website is loading blank for some users, try reloading again in a few minutes,” the account said in a tweet on Saturday.
The tweet was shared by one of the Shiba Inu developers – @ShibaTrophias, who also provided details on the timeline of upcoming Shiba Inu initiatives.
ShibaTrophias noted that the website upgrade is just the “first step” towards the launch of the highly awaited Shibarium Beta launch.
The countdown to the website’s official launch is now available on shibatoken.com but the developer advised that “the entire website will not launch all at once.”
Instead, the team would execute “phased rollouts” and promised to “try to make” the launch “as smooth as possible.”
ShibaTrophias has been dropping mysterious tweets over the past few days, triggering speculation among the Shib army, or the Shiba Inu community.
But, after all those theories, it turned out that the website would go live before the community could get their hands on the beta version of the upcoming layer-2 solution.
Former Shiba Inu Growth Breed member and social media influencer with Twitter handle @LucieShib, on Sunday, shared thoughts on what the team was planning.
She noted that the Wiki might “introduce a new STRUCTURE of the whole ecosystem” and might come in three parts.
This will most likely involve the rollout of the “Basic wiki structure” which is happening in a few hours, followed by the “Woof paper,” which LucieShib thinks will serve as the roadmap, and the “Shibarium documentation,” which will serve as the community’s guide to the layer-2 solution.
So far, there is no release date for the beta or the Shibarium documentation. But Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu, promised earlier that it wouldn’t be “that long” before the project launches.
The Shib Army anticipates that Shibarium’s launch would help push the price of the Shiba Inu, as the altcoin has been tumbling over the past few days moving along with the turbulent crypto market.
SHIB maintained its position in various rankings on different crypto aggregator sites, which according to Kusama, is not something the Shib Army should worry about.
The lead developer also encouraged the community that instead of asking for the exact release of Shibarium, the Shib Army should “think about how they will build or offer things” on the layer-2 solution.
Kusama’s recent tweet and comments impacted the community and sent out a positive sentiment to the holders.
This helped push the price of Shiba Inu up and as of 3:09 a.m. ET on Sunday, SHIB was trading up 6.20% at $0.000008746 with a 24-hour volume of $223,545,192, based on the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
